A Letterform for Lewisham

MA Graphic Design course project, 2021.

In my design I wanted to combine historical and contemporary references (examples of three-dimensional letters of old and new signs), with the urban spirit of the once dilapidated suburb, undergoing an accelerating process of gentrification, which is Lewisham today. Many areas are still very derelict but the borough is changing, its centre is literally a building site, and I wanted to emphasize this, utilising certain elements of lettering examples from the local area.
